Edward G. Bahl

Edward G. Bahl, 76, of Elyria, passed away at home on Friday, September 3, 2021 following a long battle with ALS - Lou Gehrig's Disease. He was born June 23, 1945 in Amherst. Ed served in the United States Air Force and had worked for E&L Transport as a yardman. He was a member of The Oberlin Masonic Lodge and enjoyed playing golf, watching the Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland area professional sports. Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Marilyn M. (nee Barlow); grandchild, Shannon; three great-grandchildren, Michael, Christopher and Joseph; three brothers, Kenneth Bahl (Rosa) of Elyria, Richard Berry (Edna) of Amherst and Alan Bahl (Sam Sun) of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Janet Ready (Calvin) of Wakeman and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Erma (nee Johannsen) Bahl; two sisters, Beverly Mullinax and Sandra Dunbar and three brothers, George Berry (Jeanette), Robert Berry and Ronald Berry. Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m., Thursday, September 9, 2021 at The Laubenthal Mercado Funeral Home, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57), Elyria, (440) 322-4626, where funeral services will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday with the Oberlin Masonic Lodge, followed by The Reverend Father John P. Seabold, Pastor of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church and conclude with V.F.W. Post #1079 providing full Military Honors.
